The Combat spec has weapon specializations that work best not only with specific weapons, but also with specific weapon speeds (Combat Swords shines with a slow-speed main hand sword with a fast off-hand sword).
Rogue weapon choices are often limited by specialization and/or ability. This means that Rogue performance in Burning Crusade Classic may lag in Phases 1 and 2, but by Phase 3, the high-level equipment options improve for Rogues and their end-game options will get better. Nearly every source of DPS from a Rogue scales directly from gear, so poor gear will equal poor performance. Like all Melee DPS, Rogues are gear dependent. Rogues also suffer from some drawbacks that you will want to consider before choosing this class. They can also interrupt spells through Kickand can pick locked doors, chests, and lockboxes with Pick Lock. Rogues contribute to crowd control with Sap, as well as short-term spells like Blind, Kidney Shot, and Cheap Shot which do dual duty as stuns and spell interrupts.
